Beautiful hand carved early 19th century Norman 2 part buffet
From the town of Rouen in north east Normandy
Fine details throughout of flowers and classical details.
This piece would have been made to celebrate a marriage and commissioned by the father of the bride.
At the end of the ceremony all the gifts would have been wheeled out on a horse drawn cart decorated with flowers, then taken to the home of the newly wedded couple.
