Mid 18th Century Louis XV period Venetian headboard. 
A very rare survivor with original gilding and hand painted panel, we see many 19th and 20th century examples but rarely period ones as good as this. 
The back of the panel is also completely original, with a beautifully rippled hand adzed surface.
